Cinderella Ang Peg!

I've spent some time thinking what to make of this blog. Haha. As if! This is only my third post and I have actually been spending more time:

1. Thinking and rethinking my educational/career plan.

2. Getting anxious about going home (long story! but how about meeting-my-Great-Love-whom-I-have-not-seen-for-a-year-and-a-half then meeting his friends?)

3. Dreaming of a life I want to live.

And then I really don't know where this is going. I am just trying to remember timeless lessons that are taught again and again and again. I guess what I can come up with right now is this:

It is so easy to be clouded with thoughts about what errands to do next, the stress of everyday life and even fears of what the future might be. But I am here now. I must remember to be present. Whatever I need, I already have.

All this might seem very corny but it helps me very much. I just sort of stop and say to myself, well I've got the people I love. I have my dreams. I'm good. Then the anxiety just melts away and something good happens like:

1.  A great and practical idea just came up (through CENTURIES of researching!) about my education/career.

2. My Great Love (i have no codename for him yet so let's leave it that way for now) just assured me that his friends are easy to get along with and I realized that I am actually excited about meeting new people (socially awkward that I am.).

3. I have just been chatting with my amazing friend C and an inspiring idea is brewing!

So there. Even Disney taught me enduring lessons. Love true and love well. Believe in your dreams.

P.S.
Obvious ba, I grew up watching Disney? More Disney pegs in the future. Haha. Still learning how to blog and arrange all the photos though.

Sunday

It was my first day at lyrical dance class and only two of us showed up. Fortunately, our teacher loves this dance style and proceeded to teach us a few steps of her choreography for this song. Upon reading the lyrics, I found it quite apt.

Yeah it will be okay
Do nothing today
Give yourself a break
Let your imagination run away

It IS a Sunday and I braved the wind and cold to walk to dance class. I was just so glad the three of us were present and up to it. I have always believed Sundays to be sacred. I don't know if that came from my cultural background of being born into a Catholic country. It's not a secret to people who know me that I don't really practice my uh...religion. Anyhow, by sacred, I mean a time to refresh, regenerate and to reflect.

We need at least two more people to sign up for the class to push through and I am really crossing my fingers because I really consider this dance class as one of the many ways to release tension and to do something for my soul.

Meanwhile, I will let my imagination run away...

A Letter of Intent to the Universe

I can be New Age-y but the title is inspired by an actual letter of intent for a university program. I need to submit  a letter indicating why I want to be in that program, what my plans are and what experiences I have had will contribute to my success. This is going to be another spot the metaphor or elaborate on the obvious metaphor type of entry. It's so easy to be receptive to signs and symbols when I'm down but maybe it's also because I am subconsciously alert. Alert to anything that will make this search a little more promising.

Five lines into this entry, I am self-criticizing, crippling the girl who just wants to express her feelings. Maybe my first intent then is to stop and relax. So Universe, I intend to let go and just be.

Then soon, I will learn not to brush accomplishments off and treat blessings as though they are not well-deserved. I intend to always be grateful. There is so much to celebrate and so I intend for this blog to be a place for remembering celebrations and finding my happy place.
